Wes Johnson

Wes has been a leader in Triangle real estate and development since 1997, representing high-profile clients such as Red Hat, FedEx, Blue Cross Blue Shield, ABB, and Chubb Insurance. His expertise spans tenant and landlord representation, as well as spearheading leasing duties for landmark projects through the years, including NC State’s Venture Center, WestChase Office Park, Meadowmont Village, Crescent Lakeside and Research Triangle’s Globe Center. Together with his partner, Bret, Wes oversees leasing for Healthcare Realty Trust’s (NYSE: HR) entire Triangle portfolio, comprising over 1.2 million square feet.

Before joining Capital Associates, Wes gained valuable experience at two top commercial real estate and development firms and successfully founded and operated his own real estate, building, and development company. He also ran a thriving outdoor industry business, partnering with major retailers like Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, and L.L.Bean.

A graduate of NC State University, Wes also completed a prestigious year-long program at the University of Leeds International Business School in the UK. He remains deeply engaged with the NC State community through mentoring and the NC State Entrepreneurship Clinic. An active participant in the startup ecosystem, he has been a key member of Raleigh Founded since 2014 and currently sits on the board of Blue Co.

Wes holds both a North Carolina Real Estate Broker’s license and a General Contractor’s license, underscoring his broad expertise and commitment to excellence in the industry.
